OFFICIAL RULES FOR 3,000 TOURNAMENTS

Season TWO, release 2.1
REFERENCE: November 1944/1945

After the success of the scenarios in season one and the introduction of Upgrade Vehicle we thought we would update the tournament rules to make the games more exciting and challenging.

"Swiss" system
The torunament is run with the "swiss" system, where players play each other from the highest points downwards.

3,000 Point armies
Apart from some exceptions, 3,000 Point armies are used (or less); you are not allowed more than 3,000 points. Each player must have an Axis army (German) and also an Allied army (American, British or Russian).
For the limitations, refer to the basic rules and the Supplements Paratrooper Attack, Upgrade Vehicle, Berlin 1945 and Beach Assault (coming soon). You are not allowed to use armies from the site unless they are clearly marked "Official Rules".

Tables
All games will be played on tables measuring a minimum of 120 x 160 cm.

Pre-match
Before each game the two players tell the other player which side they intend using (Axis or Allies). If they choose two different sides then you should move to the set-up phase.
If both players choose the same side then they roll one dice each. Whoever rolls highest can choose. You can modify the dice roll and get a +2 for every 200 full points that you sacrifice (left-over points do not count). E.g. Marco wants to play with the Germans but so does his adversary Massimo. They roll a dice to decide. Massimo sacrifices a 250/9 Halftrack (300 Points) and gets a +2 to the roll. If he wins he can use the Germans but will not be allowed to use the unit that he sacrificed during the game.

The Deck
Each player must bring his own decks (American/German). In order to avoid any "problems" each player plays with the other playerÕs deck. You are allowed to check the deck before play begins. Some checks may also be made by the judges to check the fair play of the players. With the introduction of Upgrade and the consequent increase in vehicles, remove two Fire 6 cards to balance the deck.

Dice and ruler
Each player must bring at least 10 dice, a ruler and the markers needed during the game.

Maximum nember of units and set-up
The maximum number of units allowed in an army is 10. You must also count those units (like the Panzergrenadiers) that can decide to separate from their unit at the start of the turn so when choosing the army you must decide if they can separate during the game. Once this decision has been taken you cannot change it. E.g. Massimo buys a Panther, 1 Panzergrenadier HQ, 2 Panzergrenadier Squads (that declare the sub-division into 2 units) and a Panzerschreck as a separate unit, 2 Kubelwagens and lastly a 250/9 Half-track for a total of 10 units.
During the set-up, even if they are sub-divided into more than one unit, models that comprise the same squad (section, etc) must be set-up at the same time. In the example above the Panzergrenadier Squad (that is split into 2) and the Panzerschreck that are all separate units are set-up at the same time. This rule simulates the fact that although they have been given different orders those models are part of the same original unit and therefore we assume they arrived on the battlefield at the same time.

Tables
For summary tables showing movement, weapons, awareness, modifiers to hit and for damage, close combat and the Morale Test, etc we use the tables contained in Upgrade Vehicle and then Berlin 1945.

Rules
If there are any disagreements always use the rules in the latest supplement published.

Optional suggested rules for Tournament Play
The following are some optional rules which are suggested for use during tournaments but the organiser is free to use only some of them.
Vehicles in the firing line - Prisoners Ð Mixed Infantry units Ð Infantry units in the firing line Ð Temporarily attached infantry units Ð Tanks as transport vehicles - Infiltrators.
